The Indiana Disability Employment Initiative will host a Veterans’ Affairs information benefits workshop from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the Business Conference Center at IVY Tech Community College-Riverfront Campus on Walnut Street in Downtown Lawrenceburg.

Topics for the workshop will include: VA services, VA clinic services, eligibility for services, Social Security benefits and work incentives, Medicare and Medicaid, and employment resources.

The Indiana Disability Employment Initiative is a partnership of Community Mental Health Center, Inc., Centerstone of Indiana, and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. DEI was awarded a grant from the U. S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration and the Administration’s Office of Disability Employment Policy to fund the initiative.

The primary focus of the DEI project is to increase the education, training and employment opportunities for individuals who are unemployed or under-employed and who are receiving Social Security disability benefits.

This event is free and pre-registration is suggested. Parking garage tickets will be validated for free parking.
